Yes! We absolutely recommend seed cycling while on the Pill, the nutrients in the seeds are very beneficial and the prebiotic fiber found in the seeds are great for gut health. While most forms of hormonal birth control stop your normal cycle you can seed cycle with the lunar calendar (new moon and full moon) this is an easy way to mimic a natural menstrual cycle while taking the Pill.
There are many women use seed cycling to help adjust to a regular menstrual cycle when getting off the Pill. This may have already been suggested to you by a Functional Nutritionist or Naturopath.
Internationally acclaimed hormone expert, nutrition scientist Dr. Jolene Brighten states "Being on hormonal birth control causes hormonal mayhem. Similarly, stopping birth control without supporting your body can also cause severe symptoms. This is why, in Beyond the Pill, I recommend women begin 'seed' cycling when coming off of birth control."
While it's not necessary to seed cycle during pregnancy, incorporating the 4 key seeds into your daily diet can still provide a great source of hormone-boosting nutrients. Always consult with your health care professional, if you are struggling with infertility there may be some major things that need to be addressed.
You can start seed cycling at any time – meaning you don’t have to wait until a specific day to begin with the seed blends.
For example - If you are on day 5 of your cycle, you would take Phase 1 blend for the next 9 days and then move onto Phase 2. Continue taking Phase 2, until switching back to Phase 1 on the first day of your next cycle (which is day 1 of your period).
If your period is irregular, absent or you are in menopause you can follow the lunar moon calendar & cycle starting with Phase 1 on a new moon and Phase 2 on a full moon.
Historical studies over time have shown that the lunar calendar (moon phases) can be used to regulate a woman's’ cycle and that the moon’s influence on our bodies can include things such as promoting the release of neurohormones, sex hormones and melatonin.
For people without a regular menstrual cycle, PCOS, Endometriosis or if you are in menopause it’s recommended to use the phases of the moon as a guide to cycle dates. Some women may find after a couple month's of seed cycling their menstrual cycle becomes more regular, you can then switch to seed cycling with your own menstrual cycle.
Store The Seed Cycle Phase 1 and 2 containers in a cool, dark place, out of direct sunlight. Be sure to keep the container sealed You may choose to keep the containers in the fridge if you live in extremely hot conditions.
To date, there has been no medical research to suggest that seed cycling causes any adverse impact on the body however we always recommend that you speak to your GP or Nutritional Consultant before making any significant changes to your diet or lifestyle. Particularly IBS or any other conditions should be taken into account that may be affected by ingesting seeds.
The seed cycling technique is often recommended by health professionals to support women's health challenges such as acne, PMS, irregular cycle and cramping.
Seed cycling is not recommended for people who have seed allergies to all four key seeds, including flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds. However, there are alternative approaches you can explore. For instance, if you're allergic to sesame seeds but not to the other three seeds, you can still seed cycle by following Phase 1 as usual, and in Phase 2, doubling the dose of the sunflower seeds instead of including sesame seeds. With this modification, you can still experience the benefits of seed cycling and promote hormonal balance naturally.
If you have any further questions or concerns about seed cycling or alternative options, please don't hesitate to reach out to us for support.
Daily consistency is important but if you do miss a day, don't stress. You can double up the next day.
The easiest way is to add the blends to smoothies, yogurt bowls, salads, and soups.

Yes our seeds are Australian Certified Organic. When practicing seed cycling, it’s strongly recommended to use certified organic seeds to ensure that you are consuming seeds that are free from harmful chemicals, pesticides, and other contaminants.
Our seeds come ground which we do in small batches to ensure stability and nutrient quality of the seeds. Oxygen absorbers are also used in our Phase 1 and 2 containers. When seed cycling, it's important to consume ground seeds as opposed to whole seeds for a few reasons.
First, consuming ground seeds makes it easier for the body to absorb the nutrients contained in the seeds. Whole seeds have a hard outer shell that can be difficult for the body to break down, which can limit the amount of nutrients that are absorbed. Ground seeds, on the other hand, have a larger surface area, making it easier for the body to access the nutrients contained within them.
Second, ground seeds are often easier to digest than whole seeds, which can be beneficial for people with gastrointestinal issues.
